This time card calculator helps workers, managers, and contractors estimate shift hours and gross pay quickly. It subtracts break time, shows regular and overtime hours, and gives a fast pay estimate from the hourly rate entered.
Formula and method
The calculator measures the time between the start and end of the shift, subtracts unpaid break minutes, splits the remaining hours into regular and overtime portions based on the selected threshold, and then calculates gross pay using base pay plus 1.5× overtime pay.
Example
If a shift runs from 9:00 to 17:30 with a 30-minute break, the calculator shows 8 worked hours. If the hourly rate is 20, it can then estimate gross pay and overtime if the threshold is exceeded.
